Ketos Ring

Introduction

The Ketos Test Ring is an essential tool for conducting a comprehensive check of your MPI Machine’s DC output. Featuring subsurface discontinuities, it offers a fast and effective way to verify that the DC output of the MPI machine is functioning correctly.

Designed as a quick performance indicator, the Ketos Test Ring must be processed using the continuous method with a 1-inch (2.54 cm) diameter central conductor. Proper processing will produce indications of artificial subsurface discontinuities on the ring's circumferential surface. The number of these indications is influenced by the magnetizing current amperage and the characteristics of the indicating medium. The results should meet the minimum standards outlined in the accompanying chart.

How to Use

Setup:

• Place the ring on a copper central conductor with a diameter between 2.54 cm and 3.175 cm.

• Secure the central conductor between the head and tailstocks

Magnetizing Process:

• Set the amperage to the predetermined levels used for each test.

• Magnetize the ring circularly using a contact shot, applying the magnetizing particles continuously.

Result Verification

A consistent number of visible indications per level indicates proper system functioning. Refer to the table below for standards.
